I'd make time for Brera in Milan, even on a short visit.
YesMilano describes the neighbourhood's cobbled streets, galleries, cafés and the Pinacoteca di Brera. [1] That's plenty to build an afternoon around.
I'd start with the paintings and leave the rest open. Maybe a long lunch. Maybe a shop with a window too good to walk past.
Milan has a very polished reputation, but I like the little everyday moments just as much.
Comfortable shoes, please. I intend to wander.
